ACTIONS:

ALIG Charity Super Typhoon Relief Efforts

The ALIG Charity Super Typhoon Relief Efforts Team met Friday to review options for providing relief and allocating the aid donated by ALIG and pledged to ALIG by members and their family/friends abroad toward ongoing relief efforts.

The team’s goal is to maximize the value of the each donation and its impact by utilizing trusted contacts and resources that might otherwise be unavailable to single donors or donors abroad.

ALIG will be providing support to the Philippines in response to this tremendous catastrophe through a few different ways, with several volunteer opportunities available. Details to come.

You will see details on current volunteer opportunities in green below.

We invite you to help out if you are interested in doing so.

OPPORTUNITY #2
EVACUEE SUPPORT IN MANILA
ALIG will supplement support to Super-Typhoon evacuees arriving in Manila at the airport.
The Philippine Air Force (and other agencies) have been evacuating 200 people every three hours to Manila (as well as other locations.)
The evacuees arrive with next to nothing and sometimes, even without clothing. There are several agencies assisting them there, but below you’ll find the assistance they’ve request from us.

How can you help?
Delivery of donations listed below can be made to Maraia’s home: 204 Dingalan

1) Donate Clean, small, hand held children’s stuffed animals or small toy
- After surviving such a horrendous experience, the counselor’s told us that the children have found some small comfort in having something of their own with which they can cuddle.
2) Provide large shopping Bags (preferably paper or reusable)
- They need a method of carrying the items they receive from the various agencies. Remember, many of them have stepped off the plane with absolutely nothing.
3) Donate gently used, clean and practical clothing, any size
Please send only things that would be helpful for an evacuee to wear right now
4) Donate Bona Powdered Baby Formula
We were informed that they are constantly running out of baby formula

ALIG is not specifically enrolling volunteers for this at this time, but if you are interested in volunteering at the Air Force Base airport, please contact us. ALIGCharities@yahoo.com so we can put you in touch with someone there.

Thanks for reading.

MANILLE BIENVENUE

CARGO HAUS BUILDING
